Introduction to QGIS - Agenda
The training agenda is based mainly on the QGIS Training Manual with custom examples and has the following aims:
The last session each day can be used to answer questions on particular issues that have been encountered during the course of the day.
Day 1

Module: The Interface
Understanding the whole QGIS interface and a description of the tools
Module: Creating a Basic Map
Adding layers in QGIS and understanding vector Symbology
Module: Classifying Vector Data 1. Understanding attribute data
Day 2.
Topics for the day
Module: Creating Maps
Using map composer, each participant should be equipped to produce a detailed map of the study area at the end of the course to ensure that they have understood the concepts covered by the manual
Module: Creating Vector Data
Module: Vector Analysis
Module: Rasters Analysis of how QGIS deals with raster data and operations that can be carried on raster data
Day 3
Topics for the day
Module: Plugins
Module: Online Resources
A demonstration of how QGIS interacts with web mapping services
Module: GRASS
Explanation of other tools that are accessible within QGIS for advanced analysis
Module: Database Concepts with PostgreSQL and
Module: Spatial Database Concepts with PostGIS
A demonstration of how to connect to spatial databases. If participants have other databases that they use then participants can be shown how to connect and interact with their data in QGIS
Close of Day: Work on a map and produce a good impressive map
